The Auburndale Peaking Energy Center is located in Auburndale, Florida.  The plant produces electricity during times of peak demand.

Electricity generated by the Auburndale Peaking Energy Center is sold to the Florida wholesale merchant market.  The facility is able to respond quickly to peaking demands within the state and is interconnected via the Tampa Electric transmission grid.  The facility utilizes either natural gas or distillate fuel for optimum reliability.
