NATURAL GAS-FIRED POWER GENERATION
Calpine’s modern, efficient energy facilities are the backbone of the United States’ energy system.
GEOTHERMAL POWER GENERATION
We are the nation’s largest producer of geothermal power, providing clean, sustainable, renewable energy that can power over 725,000 homes.
BATTERY STORAGE PROJECTS
Our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) allow us to store energy during periods of high generation – and use it during periods of high demand.
CARBON CAPTURE & SEQUESTRATION (CCS)
CCS technology captures and sequesters CO2 from existing facilities. This technology will prevent those emissions from releasing into the atmosphere. Calpine is a leader in the nation’s emerging CCS efforts. In connection with the DOE, we have already conducted several FEED studies and have more projects on the horizon for this game-changing technology.
SOLAR
As an owner and developer of solar-generation facilities, Calpine recognizes the role solar plays in addressing our nation’s need for lower-carbon energy sources.
CPN PIPELINE
Based in Rio Vista, California, this subsidiary supports Power Operations by maintaining pipeline segments that deliver natural gas to our power plants.
